I've been tagged

My friend Jane E tagged me on her blog to answer these 8 questions, so since I think she's pretty great, I thought I'd oblige her. :-)

1. If you could change your career, what would you do? Hmmm. That's a tough one. Well, I honestly love getting to stay at home with my kids while they're young and also work from home on the side. But when they go back to school and I venture out again, I would love more than anything to work in some capacity with refugees. I just feel so deeply for people who have been displaced and have found themselves in a foreign place, oftentimes without their families. I want to help build a bridge for them between their home country and their new life and help get them connected in that new life.
2. Before you were a Mom what did you do that you don't do anymore? I worked for a missions organization for 5 years and led teams of missions students on trips overseas. I traveled all the time and often felt like my entire life could fit in a large hiking backpack. :-)
3. If you could spend a day with one person who would it be? Well, I'll just assume that this person is someone who is no longer living, and I'll say my dad. I'm not sure a day goes by that I don't wish he could've been alive to meet my kids.
4. What is your favorite restaurant, and what do you order there? This one is way too tough for me to answer. My favorite thing in the world is eating out and trying new restaurants. But I'll just choose a place where I always order the same thing: Trudy's on Burnet and I order the Ciro's special. YUMMMMM.
5. If you could see anyone in concert (even if they are dead) who would it be? Ya know, I've got to say Depeche Mode. And here's why: my friend Annie and I went on a double date to see them when we were around 18 or 19, and uhhh, I won't tell all the details, but let's just say that someone was holding someone else's hair back in the bathroom so they could puke during the entire show. :-))))) *I hope Annie is reading this!!! Anyway, soooo, if I got a chance to see them again, I would make sure no alcohol was anywhere around. :-)
6. What is your guilty pleasure? Probably watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I try to turn it off, but I usually can't do it.
7. Your pet peeve? Moms that think they know everything about everything.
8. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be? I would worry way less and "let my hair down" a lot more. (not literally, for those of you that are thinking i mean i would take my ponytail out).

  1. Love it! Thanks for doing it. I'm sorry about your Dad :( I didn't know. That's tough. 5 1/2 years ago my Daddy was diagnosed with Grade IV brain cancer and was given 8-12 months to live. He is still with us (God's will, total miracle), but at that time I thought it was over, and I was devastated. So, I can only imagine how you feel, and I'm so sorry! You're GREAT!!!!
